Actually, the background story happened at Cyberpunk age. Wonder view industries is completely a disguise of the templar. They can totally control people‘s mind without any Eden piese but chip implanting through people's proactive behavior. like mobile, chip, VR equipment, Internet, so piese of Eden is in everywhere. 
Everything is under control, everything can be connected.（Sounds like watchdog slogan, perhaps that's what they're planning to merge some storyline  ）
